‘Ewa Afrika 2024  … The Folk Lure” is carded for the Queen’s Hall on June 2 from 5 pm. This prolific showcase of Afro-inspired fashion has garnered phenomenal traction in its three-year history, wooing larger audiences with a plethora of Afrocentric creative excellence from the region. Indeed, it is a Caribbean presentation of runway collections by the best designers paying homage to our African traditions and our Afro-Caribbean style.

The production is staged by the Emancipation Support Committee of T&T under the masterful creative direction of fashion impresario Richard Young.

The event is part of the largest Pan-African festival outside the African continent and “boasts of eclectic, exotic and ethnic interpretations of our African Diasporic fashion identity with Afro-futurist forecasts for our New World style ego. It’s all part of proclaiming our Caribbean aesthetic to the world, unapologetically,” Richard Young enthuses.
